What you're actually winning

There is no hero shot of the prize bike here, because the prize bike doesn't exist yet. NAMIL's rules award "one (1) new motorcycle of winner's choice of make and model up to $20,000 value" — you win first, then you go pick it. Cruiser, adventure bike, sportbike, standard: your call, in standard equipment, from what a dealer can actually put on the floor. The Sponsor chooses the store, using "best efforts to select a dealership that is close to winner's primary residence," and you collect it there in person.

That structure is unusual enough to be the whole appeal. Most giveaways hand you somebody else's taste in a bike; this one hands you a budget and a catalogue. The two most recent winners show what that produces: attorney Moe DeWitt handed 2025 winner Josiah Rule the keys to a Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250, and 2024 winner Colin Morini took a Honda Africa Twin. Neither is a starter bike, and both are documented with the winner standing next to the machine — which is more proof of delivery than most promotions of this size offer.

Why the $20,000 number is the real story

Twenty grand is a genuinely wide door at a 2026 dealership. It covers a Softail Standard ($14,550), a Street Bob ($14,999), a Low Rider S ($18,999), a Honda Africa Twin ($15,199), and it lands exactly on a Pan America 1250 ST or Special at $19,999. What it doesn't reach is full-dress bagger territory — Street Glide and Road Glide money, or the Pan America 1250 Limited at $26,499. So the mental model is "almost any mainstream new bike in the showroom, minus the big tourers."

The ceiling cuts the other way too. Pick a $14,000 bike and the leftover $6,000 does not come to you: the rules state the prize "is not redeemable for cash, assignable, transferable and may not be substituted except at Sponsor's sole discretion." There is no cash alternative anywhere in this promotion. The rational play, if you win, is to spend the whole allowance.

Worth naming the trade, too: NAMIL is the National Academy of Motorcycle Injury Lawyers, and this is a lawyer-marketing sweepstakes. Entry costs nothing because what you hand over is your name, phone, email and address to a network of motorcycle injury firms. That's the deal, and it's an honest one — but it is the deal.

The fine print worth knowing

The $20,000 buys the motorcycle and nothing else. The rules put it plainly: "Winner will be responsible for any and all costs associated with the collection and use of the Vehicle, including but not limited to, optional equipment, freight and dealer prep, title, license, insurance, registration fees, applicable taxes." Freight and setup, sales tax, tags and your first insurance premium are all on you at the counter, so the number you should be budgeting against is the out-the-door price, not the prize value. Add the tax side: the winner signs "an IRS W-9 Form," meaning a $20,000 prize is reportable income, and with no cash alternative there's nothing bundled in to cover the bill.

The clocks are short. The potential winner "will be required to sign and return, within seven (7) days of notification, an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Waiver, an IRS W-9 Form and where allowable, a Publicity Release," and "Noncompliance may result in forfeiture of prize." After that, "Winner must personally retrieve the Vehicle within 30 days of written notification of delivery" — personally, so someone has to physically get to the dealership.

One entry per human, not per website. The rules allow "One (1) Entry per person regardless of whether entrant has more than one email address," and several law firms in NAMIL's network each run this as their own branded giveaway page. They all link the same official rules and feed the same December 15 drawing, so filling out five of them is not five entries.

Everything else. Entry is genuinely free — there is no paid entry path in this promotion at all, just a short form. Open to the 50 states and D.C., 18+ (19+ in Alabama and Nebraska, 21+ in Mississippi), void in Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Odds "will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received," which the operator does not publish. Disputes are routed to arbitration, with the Sponsor covering the arbitrator's fees. The drawing happens "on or about Tuesday, December 15, 2026," and the winner's name can be requested by mail afterward under the rules' winner-confirmation section.

Spec Sheet

Why It's Special

There is no prize bike to photograph, because the winner chooses it after the draw: the rules award "one (1) new motorcycle of winner's choice of make and model up to $20,000 value," in standard trim, from a dealership the Sponsor selects near the winner's home. NAMIL has run the promotion annually since 2019, and the past two bikes show what the format produces in practice — 2025 winner Josiah Rule took a Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250, and 2024 winner Colin Morini took a Honda Africa Twin.

Our value estimate

$20,000

The operator states the prize as "one (1) new motorcycle of winner's choice of make and model up to $20,000 value," with "The ARV of Grand Prize is: $20,000 maximum" — so $20,000 is a ceiling, not a payout, and the figure here is that ceiling rather than an appraisal of a specific machine. Because the winner picks the bike, the honest range is roughly $15,000–$20,000 of window sticker depending on what gets chosen: at 2026 MSRPs the cap comfortably covers a Harley-Davidson Softail Standard ($14,550), Street Bob ($14,999), Low Rider S ($18,999), a Honda Africa Twin ($15,199) or a Pan America 1250 ST/Special ($19,999 — the bike the 2025 winner took), while stopping short of full-dress bagger money and the Pan America 1250 Limited at $26,499. Two things pull the real-world number down: choosing a cheaper bike does not pay out the difference (the prize "is not redeemable for cash"), and the $20,000 covers the motorcycle only — "freight and dealer prep, title, license, insurance, registration fees, applicable taxes" and any optional equipment are the winner's expense, so the out-the-door figure runs above the prize value rather than below it.
