Is Freehub Magazine legit?
Freehub Magazine is listed here because we actively track its bike giveaways. A legitimate bike-giveaway operator publishes official rules, offers a free (no-purchase) way to enter, announces winners publicly, and has a track record of delivering bikes. Almost always. Legitimate US sweepstakes must offer a free mail-in or online entry route, and each free entry counts the same as a paid one. Look for the "Free entry route" box on each Freehub Magazine listing.

Yes — a won bike is taxed as ordinary income at its fair market value and reported on a 1099. Some operators include a cash-toward-taxes payment, which we flag under "What's Included" on the listing.
